We can’t change the world, only God can. We can’t change our country,

only God can. We can’t change the church, only God can. I can’t even

change me, only God can.

I’m always hearing Christians quote 2 Chronicles 7.14, “If my people

will…God will. But I’m afraid we want to think that somehow God is

going to just zap America and bring it back into shape. It doesn’t work

that way.

I can only humble ME. I can only seek His face for ME. I can only

turn from MY wicked ways. I can only receive forgiveness for MY sin.

I can only allow Him to heal MY land.

Lord, forgive me. I am so sorry for the things I have done and the

things I have left undone. Create in me a clean heart O God. Let me be

like you in all my ways. Shelter me in the shadow of your wings.

This is my prayer. This is my desire.
